Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while officials has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the United States, Europe and the Group of Seven - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty missiles struck the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
